hitting an all time low
october’s disco research led me to this beautiful cover of david bowie’s ‘ashes to ashes’ by warpaint on the passionate sounds blog. love. download and love.
it’s also on the excellent everybody taste blog, as is ‘undertow’, the one they keep playing on 6music. on 28 october they are playing at la scala. joce wants to go, so we might, just, do that.
interesting fact: the delectable shannyn sossamon (knight’s tale etc) was the original drummer for warpaint (her sister jenny lindberg is still in the band), but decided to leave to focus on her acting career. she kindly played on the 2009 ep ‘exquisite corpse’ with them before departing. and she directed the newly released music video for ‘undertow’. nice.
